A Whole New Climate

My house in New Orleans was damaged in Hurricane Ida at the end of August. It’s been a battle since then, keeping the tarp attached, trying to find a contractor, fighting mold, navigating space and relationships under the stress of this. I worked on that house for 3.5 years. To see part of it crumble was devastating in a way I haven’t fully processed. I decided to move away… at least for a while. I am in upstate New York, wintering in an uninsulated cabin in the middle of nowhere. It was a weird choice but its peaceful when I’m not fighting the freeze.

I’m working on songs for a release that will be produces entirely by women and non-binary people. I’ve worked mostly with men in music because this industry is male dominated. They are the default. No shade, I love many of the men I’ve worked with. I wanted to see if I could do it and I wanted to give opportunity for women and non-binary folks who have been overlooked because of sexism. So far its going swimmingly and I’m excited to share with you. I don’t know when that will be but keep your eyes peeled for announcements.
